Coronation Celebrations – Friday 12th May

Dear Parents,

Please find attached Hook’s Coronation Celeberation Flyer from the Parish Council.

Whilst writing, we’d like to take the opportunity to remind you of the activities we have planned in school for FRIDAY 12TH MAY (the week AFTER the coronation and SATS).

“A Royally Big Party!”

As a fitting end to coronation week, we will be holding coronation celebrations throughout the day on Friday 12 May.

ClothesChildren are invited to attend in either party clothes or something red, white and blue (Class 6 children to bring clothes with them to change into following their final SATS test).

Royal Banquet

At lunchtime, all children will have their normal lunch royal banquet style, with children seated in rows. Hook Celebration Group will be coronating their own King and Queen of Hook the weekend of King Charles’ coronation and, if the children chosen by them attend our school, they will be at the head of the banquet table!

Coronation Parade through the village

At 2pm, the children will gather in the playground to sing ‘God Save the King’, before parading through the village. You are warmly invited to come along to watch this. The route will be as follows:-

  • Leaving the school gate, children will walk down Garth Lane, along High Street, turn onto Church Lane at the crossroads, and back to school via Mad Dog Lane.

Children can be collected from their classrooms after the parade if you wish to.

We are really looking forward to the chance to celebrate such a rare event! If you have any queries about any of the above, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Kind regards,

School Admin Team
