“I Solemnly Swear I Am Up To No Good!” – Class 3’s Summer Term Topic

Can you believe we are in the summer term already? We certainly can’t. We are very excited though to be entering this topic, as it is one we have been looking forward to all year. Our Summer term topic is called “I solemnly swear I am up to no good”, and is themed around Harry Potter. We can’t wait to experience the magic in Class 3.

To begin with, Mrs Bainton set up different tables themed around the various Harry Potter lessons.

Mrs Lewis transformed into Professor Snape as the children smelt lots of exciting ingredients and chose suitable adjectives.

Mrs Bainton magically morphed into Hagrid as she encouraged the children to be brave as they trustingly felt the different magical animals that were hidden underneath the cover. Some were slimy, some were wet and squelchy whereas others were fluffy and soft. Thankfully, none of them could bite!

The children independently described different plants in their Herbology lesson. There were mixed reactions to some of the plants and their varying scents.

Finally, Class 3 imagined they were in the Forbidden Forest experiencing a magical Divination lesson. They listened to the sounds, looked at the sites, imagined what they would smell and considered their feelings as they tried to explore the future.

All of these notes and descriptions will be transformed into a descriptive piece of writing in the format of a diary, and we can’t wait to share that with you.
